Netflix Shares ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ Trailer and Images

Streamer sets November 3 release for its 8-episode adult animation series, which takes place in Edo-period Japan and tells the story of a master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking revenge.

Netflix has shared key art and a trailer for its upcoming adult animation series Blue Eye Samurai. Set in Edo-period Japan, it tells the story of a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise, seeking the deliverance of revenge. The show promises to immerse viewers in a world of “vivid adult animation with a live-action edge.” The eight-episode series streams November 3.

Amber Noizumi and Michael Green are the show’s creators, writers, and executive producers. Erwin Stoff is also executive producer, with Jane Wu as supervising director and producer. The animation is by Blue Spirit Animation Studio.

Blue Eye Samurai stars Maya Erskine (Mizu); George Takei (Seki); Masi Oka (Ringo); Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker); Brenda Song (Akemi); Darren Barnet (Taigen); Randall Park (Heiji Shindo); and Kenneth Branagh (Abijah Fowler). Supporting voice cast includes Stephanie Hsu (Ise); Ming-Na Wen (Madame Kaji); Harry Shum Jr. (Takayoshi); and Mark Dacascos (Chiaki).
