ASIFA-Hollywood’s Animation Educator’s Forum ‘Animation Book Database’ Now Live

The free, searchable online resource for books on animation as well as publications on animation, animation history, biography of important animators, and motion picture visual effects is now available.

ASIFA-Hollywood’s Animation Educator’s Forum (AEF) has announced the debut of the Animation Book Database which was started by animation historian Charles Solomon and developed by several AEF scholars including CSUN’s Michael Bonitatis, Woodbury University’s Dori Littel-Herrick (retired), and USC’s Tom Sito. It provides animation educators with a free searchable online resource for books on animation as well as publications on animation, animation history, biography of important animators, and motion picture visual effects.

“Inclusion in the database does not imply endorsement, and exclusion does not indicate disapproval,” said Sito. “It is not meant to compete with existing book wholesalers like Amazon, but merely provides an easy first look at the number of books on animation currently available.”

The database will continue to grow and evolve with new recommendations from the animation education community. To suggest a book for inclusion, use the "Suggest A Book" button on the bottom of the page found here.
