The Trickster Returns - Disney+ Drops ‘Loki’ Season 2 Featurette

Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Ke Huy Quan and executive producer Kevin R. Wright look ahead to what it means to be Loki; new season set to debut October 5; VFX studios include Cantina Creative, ILM, Rising Sun Pictures, and Trixter.

Disney+ shared a new featurette in anticipation of Marvel Studio’s highly anticipated Loki Season 2 series debut - now slated for October 5, 6:00 P.M. PT, a day before previously announced. The show picks up after the Season 1 finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority.

When Loki, along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority, he must navigate an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

Season 2 of the six-episode series stars Hiddleston; Di Martino; Gugu Mbatha-Raw; Wunmi Mosaku; Eugene Cordero; Rafael Casal; Tara Strong; Kate Dickie; Liz Carr; Neil Ellice; with Jonathan Majors; Quan; and Owen Wilson.

The show is directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead; Dan DeLeeuw; and Kasra Farahani. Kevin Feige; Stephen Broussard; Louis D’Esposito; Victoria Alonso; Brad Winderbaum; Kevin R. Wright; Hiddleston; Benson & Moorhead; Eric Martin; and Michael Waldron are executive producers, and Trevor Waterson serves as co-executive producer. Martin is the head writer.

The VFX for the Loki Season 2 are created by Cantina Creative (VFX supervisor: Stephen Lawless); ILM (VFX supervisor: Steve Moncur); Rising Sun Pictures (VFX supervisor: Julian Hutchens); and Trixter (VFX supervisor: Christopher Smallfield)

The production VFX supervisor is Christopher Townsend; the Production VFX producer is Allison Paul; the additional VFX supervisor is Sandra Balej; and the associate VFX producer is Harrison Goldstein.

Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 launches on Disney+ at 6:00 P.M. PT on Thursday, October 5. All subsequent episodes will also be available on Thursdays at 6:00 P.M. PT.
