Paramount+ Drops ‘Star Trek Day: The Biggest Party in the Galaxy’ Teaser

The 4th annual celebration of EVERYTHING ‘Star Trek’ offers a trove of special screenings and events for Trekkies worldwide including the ‘Star Trek: Lower Decks Special Program’ streaming everywhere, the ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ 2-episode CBS Network debut, and ‘Star Trek: The Animated Celebration,’ a free live event happening at locations the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. 

Paramount+, CBS Television Network, and CBS Studios invite fans worldwide to join in the fourth annual “Star Trek Day,” a global celebration hosted by Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Jerry O’Connell, streaming on Paramount+ with special screenings across the U.S., U.K., and Canada – all in anticipation the series’ Season 4 September debut. In addition, fans can enjoy special Star Trek: Strange New Worlds airings on CBS.

Star Trek’s television debut dates to September 8, 1966 – the beginning of creator Gene Roddenberry’s legacy, inviting audiences to “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” The show featured stories rich with diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and hope. Fifty-seven years later, Paramount marks the day with a celebration of all things “Star Trek.”

Here’s a rundown of Paramount’s “Star Trek Day’ September 8 events:

“Star Trek Day” Special Program, hosted by Jerry O'Connell, Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Commander Jack Ransom, includes:

  • A look at segments featuring memorable moments over the past 57 years.
  • A commemoration of 50 years of Star Trek animation.
  • A tribute to Star Trek: Discovery (ahead of its final season).
  • A sneak-peek clip of Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4
  • Other highlights of the Star Trek legacy.

“Star Trek Day” will be available free to watch worldwide on StarTrek.com/Day, YouTube (Paramount+ and Star Trek Official pages), Twitch (ParamountPlus) and Facebook (@StarTrekOnPPlus and @StarTrek).

In the U.S., fans can stream the special on Paramount+, Pluto TV (Paramount+ Picks, STAR TREK, More STAR TREK, and Pluto TV Sci-Fi channels). In addition, Mixable will air on select local CBS affiliates, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, Pop TV, Fave TV, and Smithsonian.com.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Special Airings:

The first two episodes of the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will air back-to-back September 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS Television Network.

In episode 101, “Strange New Worlds:”

  • When one of Pike’s officers goes missing while on a secret mission for Starfleet, Pike (Anson Mount) has to come out of self-imposed exile and must navigate how to rescue his officer while struggling with what to do with the vision of the future he’s been given.
  • Teleplay by Akiva Goldsman; story by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet; directed by Goldsman.

In episode 102: “Children of the Comet:”

  • While on a survey mission, the U.S.S. Enterprise discovers a comet will strike an inhabited planet. The crew tries to re-route the comet, only to find that an ancient alien relic buried on the comet’s icy surface is somehow stopping them. As the away team tries to unlock the relic’s secrets, Pike (Anson Mount) and Number One (Rebecca Romijn) deal with a group of zealots who want to prevent the U.S.S. Enterprise from interfering.
  • Written by Henry Alonso Myers and Sarah Tarkoff; directed by Maja Vrvilo

Star Trek: The Animated Celebration:

Star Trek: Lower Decks special screenings include an evening of cartoon comedy, including four specially selected episodes of the popular animated series.

When: Thursday, August 24, at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET

  • Fans can attend free promotional screenings and experience the brand-new season of Star Trek: Lower Decks on the big screen. The day includes sneak peeks and surprises, free concessions, and giveaways at locations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

Where:

  • The special fan screenings take place in Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, St. Louis, Washington D.C., Vancouver, Calgary, and London.
