The long-awaited return of the sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe is finally happening.

Finally! Today, Adult Swim revealed the long-awaited premiere date for Season 7 of Rick and Morty, the hugely popular adult animated series that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. The show premieres globally … and across the multiverse Sunday, October 15, at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

A global phenomenon, the new season debuts in over 134 countries in 38 languages, with new episodes in the U.S. available for purchase from digital retailers the day after their Adult Swim premiere. The new season streams in 2024.

According to Adult Swim, Rick and Morty was the #1 comedy across all of cable during seasons 3-6 and is a multi-platform sensation across digital, gaming, live streaming, retail, and fan experiences in addition to television. It reached over 19 million viewers on linear broadcast in 2022 and is still a top series on Max. Rick and Morty has garnered two Emmys for “Outstanding Animated Program” and received its third nomination this year.

“It’s happening,” confirmed Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim. “Thanks to the talent of the entire show team, we can all enjoy 10 new episodes that yet again raise the bar for comedy and animation. This season proves that the geniuses at work on Rick and Morty are just getting started.”
