Final Pixel Drops Oracle Red Bull Racing Spot and Virtual Production BTS Video

Studio blends archival footage, video plates, and drone footage with environments built in Unreal Engine, CG, and VFX to create the Oracle Red Bull Racing brand’s new campaign.

When Final Pixel set out to bring virtual production to global enterprise branding, advertising, and content creation, the company dedicated significant resources to research and develop technology, creating an innovative model the leverages virtual production and real-time 3D. The studio’s R&D efforts have enabled clients to benefit from a host of new creative possibilities that have pushed past traditional production methodologies, free of many outdated pipeline processes and logistical boundaries.

One of the first global campaigns harnessing Final Pixel’s new approach debuted earlier this month – a creative partnership between the studio and the iconic Oracle Red Bull Racing brand. In cooperation with some of Final Pixel’s strategic partners - the XPLOR team and Production Park in West Yorkshire, U.K. - Final Pixel created Formula 1’s first-ever virtual production campaign to launch Oracle Red Bull Racing’s newest Formula 1 race car, the Oracle RB19, to a global audience.

The resulting short film immerses viewers in a fantastic road trip across the United States, made possible with creative virtual production. In addition to aiding the sustainability initiative of a carbon net zero production, it solved challenges that would have otherwise rendered the creative brief impossible.

At the time of the shoot, the embargoed Oracle RB19 car was confidential and could not be seen by the public anywhere, making a location shoot impractical. To solve this, the team at Final Pixel blended actual archive footage, video plates, and drone footage with environments built in Unreal Engine, CG, and VFX, creating an immersive experience to showcase the Red Bull and Formula 1 brands.
