Adobe Shares Expansive Generative AI Strategy and Products

At Adobe MAX, the tech leader’s annual conference, big reveals showcased new generative AI models, 100+ Creative Cloud innovations, and Firefly customization for enterprises, all now available; Firefly generated images now top 3 billion with 1 billion generated in the last month.

Yesterday, on the first day of the three-day Adobe MAX, Adobe, the leading provider of digital content creation tools, made significant announcements around its generative AI strategy and products, including detailing the sheer numbers of images generated by Adobe Firefly users, now topping three billion with one billion generated in the last month alone. The recently launched Firefly web app is unleashing creativity for users of all skill levels, with 90% of its users new to Adobe products. Firefly is powering apps like Adobe Express, one of Adobe’s fastest-growing products, boasting a 55% quarter-over-quarter increase in active monthly users. 

Here are the highlights:

Three new generative AI models include: 

  • Firefly Image 2 Model is building on the success of the initial Firefly model, advancing quality and creative control.
  • Firefly Vector Model, the first generative AI model for vector graphics, is available in Illustrator for product packaging, website design, and logos/icons.
  • Firefly Design Model, now available in Adobe Express, users can generate templates for social media posts and marketing assets.

Over 100 Creative Cloud innovations:

New features across flagship apps advance power for creative pros – including:

  • Lightroom AI-powered innovations add an aesthetic blur effect to photos.
  • Mockup in Illustrator for product staging.
  • Premiere Pro and Express allow users to publish videos directly to TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

AI-first innovations in Adobe Express:

  • Firefly Powered Generative Fill in Photoshop is now available in Adobe Express, allowing users to easily insert, remove, or replace image components using just a description.
  • Auto-translation (45 languages supported) and drawing/painting capabilities are now available for students and educators.

Firefly customization for enterprises:

Adobe showcased:

  • GenStudio, an end-to-end enterprise solution, uses generative AI to speed up content ideation, creation, production, and activation—optimizing content supply chains.
  • Customization capabilities for enterprises, where 10-20 images can be used to fine-tune Firefly and enable anyone in an organization to generate on-brand content. 

New Adobe Experience Manager:

  • Adobe Experience Manager new version allows users to easily create and edit web page content using Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
  • Content Authenticity Initiative update features a new icon as a key signal of transparency in digital content.
