Vivienne Medrano’s ‘Hazbin Hotel’ Gets 2 Season Prime Video Order

The animated musical comedy, from A24 and Bento Box, follows Charlie, Princess of Hell, on her mission to depopulate her homeland; series debuts this coming January.

Soon, we’ll all be in hell. A24’s animated musical comedy, Hazbin Hotel, originally announced in 2020, is finally scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video this coming January. Two seasons have already been greenlit.

The spooky-meets-quirky series is a collaboration between YouTube creator Vivienne Medrano and Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment. The 30-minute pilot, which was created, directed, written, and produced by Medrano, proved to be a veritable success with over 80 million views on YouTube.

Hazbin Hotel follows Charlie, Princess of Hell, who attempts to combat the overpopulation of her land by rehabilitating demons via her hotel, thus sending them to Heaven. She is joined by partner Vaggie and “test subject,” adult film star Angel Dust.

Medrano serves as director, and executive produces alongside Joel Kuwahara and Dana Tafoya-Cameron. Former CEO of Bento Box Entertainment Scott Greenberg also executive produces for the first season.
