Netflix Orders Third Season of ‘Castlevania’

Frederator Studios’ dark medieval fantasy series written by Warren Ellis and directed by Sam Deats is renewed for an additional 10 episodes.

Streaming giant Netflix has announced the renewal of hit animated series Castlevania for a third season.

Inspired by the classic videogame series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council.

Written by Warren Ellis and directed by Sam Deats, the series is produced by Frederator Studios, the animation company behind Nickelodeon’s Fairly OddParents, with production services provided by Austin-based Powerhouse Animation. Ellis serves as executive producer alongside Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert and Kevin Kolde.

Castlevania Season 1 has streamed to wide acclaim, and Season 2 launched on Netflix on October 26. Another 10 episodes have been ordered for Season 3. Check out the renewal announcement in the player below:
