The 29th Annual Annie Awards will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at the beautifully restored Alex Theatre, 216 N. Brand Blvd. in Glendale, California. Voice actor Billy West will host this year's black-tie event. The festivities begin at 5:00 pm with a champagne reception in the theatre's courtyard. The awards ceremony follows at 7:00 pm. In addition to host Billy West, a string of other noted animation insiders are scheduled to present awards including June Foray, Nancy Cartwright, Bruce Smith (creator and executive producer of The Proud Family), voice talent Cheryl Chase and animation historian Jerry Beck. Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the Annie Award-nominated directors of SHREK, which garnered 12 nominations across numerous categories and was the year's highest-grossing film, will also appear at the podium to present an Annie award.
