‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ and ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ Win at 74th ACE Eddie Awards

‘Oppenheimer’ andThe Holdovers’ also take home awards at the American Cinema Editors’ ceremony held March 3 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Blue Eye Samurai: “The Tale of the Ronin and The Bride” scored top animation honors at the 74th annual ACE Eddie Awards ceremony, held March 3 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. This year’s event recognized outstanding editing in 14 categories of film, television, and documentaries.

In addition to winners in competitive categories, the ACE Golden Eddie Award, recognizing an artist for their distinguished achievement in film, was awarded to John Waters. Film editors Kate Amend, ACE, and Walter Murch, ACE, received Career Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions to film editing. Stephen Lovejoy, ACE, received the ACE Heritage Award for his commitment to ACE and its mission.

Drag queen, performer, and queer activist Nina West hosted the event, presided over by ACE president Kevin Tent, ACE, who also took home top comedy honors for his work on The Holdovers
