Mattson Tomlin to Pen ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff Series ‘Aegon’s Conquest’

The project, which follows Aegon Targaryen and his sister wives Rhaenys and Visenya as they invade, conquer, and unify six of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, will serve as a prequel to ‘House of the Dragon.’

We’re going back in GoT time… again.  Another Game of Thrones spinoff series is in development at HBO, and this time it’s Aegon’s Conquest, a prequel to the prequel spinoff series House of the Dragon, according to THR.

Mattson Tomlin (The Batman Part II, BRZRKR) will pen the project, which follows Aegon Targaryen and his sister wives Rhaenys and Visenya as they invade, conquer, and unify six of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The upcoming series has been described as a “back to basics” approach to George R.R. Martin’s fantasy universe, although the deeper meaning to the statement is still unclear.

Other Game of Thrones universe projects currently confirmed to be in the works are Nine Voyages, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, a Jon Snow series, and House of the Dragon Season 2. Other potential projects include 10,000 Ships, which tells the tale of Princess Nymeria, and an untitled project set in Flea Bottom.
