FMX 2024 Shares First Program News

The 4-day event kicks off in Stuttgart on April 23, 2024 with a focus on ‘Connecting Ideas’ and the return of the ‘Lighting & Rendering” track; annual Animation Production Days is now accepting projects through February 6.

FMX 2024 has shared early program updates for the 4-day hybrid event, which returns to Stuttgart April 23-26, available on demand April 27-May 31. The 28th edition will explore “Connecting Ideas” and see the return of the “Lighting & Rendering” track curated by Christophe Hery (Meta director, Science Research). Also, submissions are now open for Animation Production Days through February 6.

Confirmed program highlights include talks, panels, and sessions:

  • VFX in Loki Season 2 - Christopher Smallfield (Trixter) on bending space & time.
  • Stylized animation - Daniel Damm shares secrets on stylized animation.
  • Insights on improving production profitability - Heiko Burkardsmaier (Accenture Song Content Germany VFX EP and head of Business & Legal Affairs).

Animation Production Days (APD) – Call for Projects

Newly developed animation projects can now be submitted for the 18th Animation Production Days (April 23-25, 2024, in Stuttgart). The co-production and financing market – a joint venture of ITFS and FMX – also offers a Talent Program for newcomers and a Co-Producers’ Program for production companies and studios looking for animation projects to collaborate on.

Deadline for project submissions is February 6, 2024.
