Did ‘Andor’ Season 2 Premiere Get Pushed into 2025?

While the ‘Star Wars’ sci-fi franchise boasts many upcoming offerings, including ‘The Acolyte,’ ‘Skeleton Crew,’ and ‘The Bad Batch Season 3,’ Disney’s release slate for 2024 has one notable omission…

The new year hasn’t even started yet and we’re already disappointed. According to Disney’s newest 2024 Star Wars slate, Andor Season 2… well, it’s not on the slate, which means it’s delayed until at least 2025. That’s a pretty serious omission.

The second season, which bridges the gap between Season 1 and the events of Rogue One, was reportedly only weeks away from completing production before the infamous SAG-AFTRA strike began, so it is unclear why the series was pushed out, if indeed that’s the case.

The Andor series focuses on Cassian Andor’s journey in the earliest stages of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor, joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly; Stellan Skarsgård; Adria Arjona; Denise Gough; Kyle Soller; and Fiona Shaw. Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Luna, and Michelle Rejwan serve as executive producers. Tony Gilroy is the creator and serves as showrunner.

Hybride, ILM, and Soho VFX handled the first season’s VFX.

Andor Season 2 was originally slated to premiere August 2024 but was pushed to November. Now, the release date is far, far away.

Still set to premiere in 2024 are Star Wars: Skeleton Crew; Star Wars: The Acolyte; Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3; and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Season 2
