ATF and TTB Launch 1st ‘ATF x TTB Animation Lab & Pitch’

Out of 110+ submissions, nine European and Asian projects have been selected to pitch at the Asia TV Forum & Market; online program runs now through November 3, with ATF Singapore on-site program running December 6-8.

Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) and EAVE Ties That Bind (TTB) are launching the first edition of the ATF x TTB Animation Lab & Pitch, a new initiative targeting producers of (young adult) animated projects from Asia and Europe with the potential and desire to explore new financing and co-production opportunities, new markets, and new audiences in both continents.

Out of 110+ submissions received from 28 different countries/regions, the Animation Lab selected nine projects in development: four from countries/regions in Europe and five from Asia.

The selection committee includes Justin Deimen (108 Media/SAVVA, SG), Juraj Krasnohorsky (Artichoke/CEE Animation, SK), Kanji Kazahaya (Culture Connect Co., JP) and Matija Sturm (CEE Animation Workshop, SI).

The ATF x TTB Animation Lab & Pitch features two separate programs providing information about European and Asian animation industries and markets. Participants can pitch projects to decision-makers at the upcoming Asia TV Forum & Market in Singapore.

The first online program runs through November 3. Participants can attend a workshop crafted by the Lab curator Krasnohorsky, whose team of industry professionals includes:

  • Ervin Han presents a general overview of the Asian-European financing landscape.
  • Katarzyna Siniarska (New Europe Film Sales) leads the session “Working with a Sales Agent.”
  • Jean François Le Corre (Vivement Lundi!) and Deimen elaborate on the “Good Practice of Co-Production.”
  • Krasnohorsky discusses packaging and pitching a project.
  • Bonnie Williams shares tips on organizing and conducting market meetings.

Participants receive consultations with four experts to revise their project packages (Le Corre and Kazahaya) and financing strategies (Jean-Baptiste, Babin-Backup Media, and Deimen).

The second on-site program at ATF in Singapore runs December 6-8, 2023. It features lectures, one-on-one consulting, pitching, and one-to-one meetings between selected teams, decision-makers, and financiers.

The following nine projects will participate in the ATF x TTB Animation Lab & Pitch:

  • Brian, Whatube Studios, Taiwan
  • Chill Out, Girl, BCH Entertainment, Indonesia
  • Ella Arcangel: Ballad of Tooth and Claw, Twenty Manila (Ludritz Ventures, Inc.), Philippines
  • Moss, Imagic TV, Spain

  • Something Great, Sumimasen Pte. Ltd., Singapore
