LOS ANGELES, CA – LOOK Effects is proud to announce that 3D Artist Josh Mossoitti will be participating in the Los Angeles SIGGRAPH CG Lighting Panel and Technology Session on Thursday, February 16th at Gnomon School of Visual Effects. The evening begins at 6:30pm with a social hour with the presentations scheduled to start at 7:30. Gnomon is located at 1015 N. Cahuenga Bl, Hollywood, CA. The panel will be moderated by Rob Bredow, Chief Technology Officer and Visual Effects Supervisor, Sony Pictures Imageworks. Besides Josh Mossotti, other panelists will be Alessandro Jacomini, Lighting Supervisor, Disney Animation and Kevin Souls, Lead Lookdev and Lighting Technical Director, Sony Pictures Imageworks. The panelists will discuss how they approach their work and will present examples of their CG lighting techniques. Josh will talk about the work he did for Underworld Awakening. The panel is to be followed by a product demonstration by Andy Lomas, Product Manager for KATANA, The Foundry.
“Our shop may be smaller, but I’ve had the opportunity to work on some pretty big projects. Underworld being one that offered some particular challenges,” says Mossotti. “I’m looking forward to presenting how being a 3D generalist makes my approach to lighting different from someone who specializes.”
