15th Dorian Film Awards Nominees Announced

GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics nominations in animation include ‘The Boy and the Heron,’ ‘Elemental,’ ‘Nimona,’ ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem’ and ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ which also scored a nomination for Visually Striking Film of the Year; winners will be announced February 26.

GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, consisting of over 500 entertainment critics, journalists, and media icons, honors the best in film, television, and Broadway/Off-Broadway, mainstream to LGBTQIA+, via the Dorian Awards. The group has announced the democratically chosen nominees for its 15th Dorian Film Awards. Winners will be announced February 26.

Barbie nabbed seven nominations, including Film of the Year, Visually Striking Film of the Year, and in a nod to Greta Gerwig, Director of the Year. Poor Things also garnered noms for Film of the Year and Visually Striking Film of the Year, in addition to Emma Stone’s nomination for Film Performance of the Year. Oppenheimer joined the pack with a nomination for Visually Striking Film of the Year, with Christopher Nolan picking up the Director of the Year Film nom, Robert Downey Jr. the nomination for Supporting Film Performance of the Year, and Ludwig Göransson for Film Music of the Year.

In animation, the Oscar-nominated The Boy and the Heron led with multiple nominations, including Non-English Language Film of the Year, Animated Film of the Year, and Film Music of the Year, with Nimona picking up nominations in Non-English Language Film and Animated Film of the Year. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse scored two nominations for Animated Film of the Year and Visually Striking Film of the Year.
