TV Academy Announces Nominees for 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

NEW YORK -- The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Streaming networks Amazon Prime Video and Netflix both scored 49 nominations each, while cable networks Disney Junior and Nickelodeon both received 16 nominations each, and Disney Channel received 10 nods. Cartoon Network and Disney XD both received two nominations each.

Nickelodeon’s hit animated series The Loud House received three nominations, including for outstanding children’s animated series alongside fellow Nick series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Welcome to the Wayne, as well as for writing and music direction & composition. Meanwhile, in the preschool categories, PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups received nominations for outstanding special class animated program and sound mixing. Rusty Rivets also received a nomination for sound mixing, and Olivia Manning was nominated for outstanding performer for her role voicing Dazzle in Butterbean's Café, while Nella the Princess Knight received a nomination for directing.

DreamWorks Animation received a total of 12 nominations, including four nominations for Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters for writing, directing, sound mixing and sound editing; three nominations for Tales of Arcadia: 3Below for main title and graphic design for an animated program, sound mixing and sound editing; two nominations for The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle for directing and main title and graphic design for an animated program; and one nomination each for Dragons: Race to the Edge (outstanding performer), She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (casting for an animated series or special), and DreamWorks Spirit Riding Free - Seasons 5 and 7 (daytime promotional announcement - brand image campaign).

Baobab Studios received four nominations for its virtual reality experience Crow: The Legend for outstanding special class animated program and outstanding interactive media for a daytime program, as well as directing and sound mixing.

Director Noam Murro’s Watership Down miniseries for Netflix received six nominations, including outstanding special class animated program, outstanding directing for an animated program, outstanding main title and graphic design for an animated program, and outstanding music direction and composition as well as sound mixing and sound editing

Also for Netflix, animated series Hilda received four nominations, including outstanding children’s animated series, writing for an animated program, directing for an animated program, and main title and graphic design for an animated program.

The ceremony for the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, May 5, 2019. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday, May 3, 2019.

The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2018 calendar year.

The 46th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala honors the more than 70 craft & program categories behind the many shows that grace the Daytime genre.

The 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is a presentation of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Both of this year’s shows will be led by executive producer David Michaels, NATAS SVP, Daytime, and executive producer David Parks of Ignition Entertainment.
