Toon Goggles Acquires 'Saladin'

Toon Goggles signs an agreement with Multimedia Development Corporation to bring the animated action-adventure children’s property “Saladin” to Toon Goggles.


Los Angeles, CA -- Online kids channel Toon Goggles has signed an agreement with Malaysia-based Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to bring the animated action-adventure children’s property Saladin, the TV series, to Toon Goggles’ growing library of children’s content, it was jointly announced by Brendan Pollitz, Creative Director, Toon Goggles and Kamil Othman, VP Creative Multimedia Division, MDeC.


“Malaysia is quickly becoming a global power in the animation industry,” said Pollitz. “Whether working with the studios or creating their own terrific IPs like Saladin, MDeC has been leading the way in developing and producing some of the world’s finest animation. We are very proud to be the selected on-line kids TV channel to premiere Saladin in the USA and Canada.  We will be attending the forthcoming Asian Animation Summit in Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia and look forward to meeting with animation producers there and building further our, Toon Goggles’, Malaysian partnerships.”


The agreement sees MDeC’s delivering, 6 episodes of Saladin, to Toon Goggles audiences throughout the US and Canada. An action adventure series. Targeting 8-12 year olds, Saladin features the story of  “the hero who became a legend.” Inspired by the actual medieval statesman and warrior, Salah al-Din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub, the series introduces, fictional character, the young adventurer named Saladin who leaves his home city of Damascus with his lifelong friend Tarik, in search of destiny and adventures. Saladin contains heroes, villains, vendettas, drama, comedy, exotic locales, climactic swordfights, daring rescues, battling armies and a dash of romance. He is the ultimate hero – courage in the face of danger, never willing to admit defeat and funny when he needs to be.
