‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Gets an Official Trailer and Premiere Date

The mystery-thriller, which take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era, debuts June 4 with its first 2 episodes exclusively on Disney+.

After a long road to the small screen, Star Wars: The Acolyte finally gets an Official Trailer and a Disney+ premiere date! The Star Wars series debuts with the first two episodes on June 4. An official poster was also shared as part of the special announcement.

The newest Star Wars offering, the mystery-thriller takes viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a shocking crime spree, but as more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

The series stars Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers) and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Dean-Charles Chapman (1917).

The Acolyte comes from creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also directed the first 2 episodes. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef also executive produce, with Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim and Rob Bredow serving as producers.

VFX studios on the series include ILM, beloFX, Clear Angle Studios, Hybride, Luma Pictures, Outpost VFX, and Rising Sun Pictures, with previs by Proof Inc. Julian Foddy serves as production VFX supervisor, with Carlos Ciudad serving as production VFX producer.
