Sony Pictures Drops ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ Trailer

Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd return... along with the Spengler family... to the iconic NYC firehouse, teaming up as Ghostbusters to save their world from a second ice age; coming to theaters March 22.

Sony Pictures’ Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, based on the original 1984 Ghostbusters, returns with the latest franchise chapter. Based on the iconic 1984 Ghostbusters, written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, the next ghostly adventure hits theaters March 22.

The Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters, new and old, must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

The film stars Paul Rudd; Carrie Coon; Finn Wolfhard; Mckenna Grace; Kumail Nanjiani; Patton Oswalt; Celeste O’Connor; Logan Kim; Bill Murray; Aykroyd; Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is directed by Gil Kenan, written by Kenan and Jason Reitman, and based on the 1984 film Ivan Reitman film Ghostbusters, written by Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. Ivan Reitman, Jason Reitman, and Jason Blumenfeld are producers, and Aykroyd, Kenan, JoAnn Perritano, Amie Karp, Erica Mills, and Eric Reich are executive producers.

Among studios contributing to the movie’s otherworldly VFX are Clear Angle Studios, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Territory Studio, and The Third Floor.
