Talk about a dream team. Olivia Wilde (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling), Margot Robbie (Barbie, Saltburn), and Simon Kinberg (X-Men) will collaborate for a feature adaptation of the comic book character Avengelyne, co-created by Rob Liefeld (Deadpool) in 1995, according to Variety.
In the comic series, Avengelyne is an angel who battles demons and monsters in her fight against evil. No word on who will play the supernatural warrior. Gina Carano was previously attached to play the character in 2013, although that adaptation fell through.
Wilde will direct the project, while Kinberg, Robbie’s LuckyChap, and partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara will produce. The currently homeless project is being shopped to studios and streamers.
