On the heels of its hugely successful three-day animation festival, SCAD AnimationFest, which concluded last week, The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has announced a stellar lineup of top animated feature film directors for its upcoming ‘Top Animators Contenders’ panel, which takes place October 24 at the 26th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival. The festival runs October 21-28.
The panel, to be hosted by Clayton Davis, senior awards editor for Variety, will include Peter Sohn (Pixar’s Elemental), Nick Bruno and Troy Quane (Netflix’s Nimona), Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson and Kemp Powers (Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Jeff Rowe (Paramount Pictures’ TMNT: Mutant Mayhem), and Walt Dohrn (DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls franchise).
SCAD will also screen Hayao Miyazaki’s critically acclaimed The Boy and the Heron on October 25.
