Netflix Shares ‘Castlevania: Nocturne’ Trailer and Images

The Vampire Messiah looks to enslave humanity in 1792 France in the ‘Castlevania’ universe’s next installment, which streams September 28. 

Netflix has released another trailer - watch below - and more images from Castlevania: Nocturne, the next installment of the Castlevania universe, which debuts all eight episodes September 28. The streamer has also announced an early screening of the highly anticipated series as part of Netflix’s Upcoming “DROP 01 Virtual Event.”

On September 27, fans worldwide can tune into the virtual showcase - DROP 01 - celebrating Netflix’s genre animated series. Anchored by the global livestream of Castlevania: Nocturne, the showcase will feature surprise announcements and never-before-seen sneak peek “drops” from the animated series - the lineup announcement is coming soon.

The global livestream event will be broadcast via Netflix Twitch Wednesday, September 27, 9:00 am PST/12:00 pm ET/5:00 pm BST via. Nocturne takes place in 1792, France, during the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to “eat the sun” and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.

The series stars Sophie Skelton as Julia Belmont; Graham McTavish as Dracula; Richard Armitage as Trevor Belmont; Emily Swallow as Lisa Tepes; James Callis as Alucard; Tony Amendola as The Elder; and Alejandra Reynoso as Sypha Belnades.

Kevin Kolde (Castlevania) and Clive Bradley (Trapped) serve as showrunners on series. Bradley also serves as creator and writer as well as executive producer alongside Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar. Sam Deats and Adam Deats share directing duties. Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation produce for Netflix.
