Netflix Reveals ‘Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight’ Cast

James Hong joins Jack Black in the new series, reprising his role as Mr. Ping, Po's adoptive, over-protective father, with Rita Ora as Wandering Blade in her first major voice acting role; the DreamWorks Animation CG show is coming… we just don’t know when!

Jack Black is back and now we know who’s joining him. Netflix has just announced more A-list cast additions to its upcoming series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. Joining Black is James Hong, reprising his role as Mr. Ping, Po's adoptive, over-protective father, with Rita Ora in her first major voice acting role as Wandering Blade, a tough English bear knight that joins Po on his globe-trotting adventure. The upcoming CG animated series, the latest from the hugely popular Kung Fu Panda franchise, still has no release date.

But, to whet our appetite, the streamer has shared some first look images.

In the new series, when a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction — and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.

Additional cast announcements include Chris Geere as Klaus Dumont; Della Saba as Veruca Dumont; Rahnuma Panthaky as Rukhmini; Ed Weeks as Colin and Amy Hill as Pei Pei. Black, Peter Hastings and Shaunt Nigoghossian executive produce, with Chris Amick and Ben Mekler serving as co-executive producers. The animation is produced by DreamWorks Animation.
