Netflix Drops ‘Skull Island’ Official Trailer

The all-new 2D animated series takes viewers on a thrilling adventure to the treacherous home of the mighty titan himself, Kong, coming to the streamer June 22.

Ahead of its June 22 streaming debut, Netflix has released the official trailer for the highly anticipated 2D animated series Skull Island. From Legendary Television, and created, written, and executive produced by Brian Duffield (Cocaine Bear, Love and Monsters), Skull Island stars Nicolas Cantu (Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky, The Fabelmans).

The show takes viewers on a thrilling adventure as a group of kind-hearted explorers rescues a woman, Annie (Mae Whitman) from the ocean, unaware that their act of heroism will lead them to the treacherous Skull Island. This enigmatic place is home to bizarre creatures and terrifying monsters, including the mighty titan himself, Kong.

In addition to Cantu, the series ensemble cast features Whitman (Family Guy, DC Super Hero Girls) as Annie; Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever, Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles) as Mike; Benjamin Bratt as Cap (Poker Face, Coco); and Betty Gilpin (Mrs. Davis, Glow) as Irene.

Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers, and Thomas Tull serve as executive producers. The animation is by Powerhouse Animation (Castlevania, Blood of Zeus).
