Netflix Drops Official Trailer for ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’

The anime series, based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley and featuring the original voice cast from the 2010 live-action film, streams November 17.

The first official trailer for the 2D anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O'Malley, was dropped during Netflix’s Geeked Week ’23 event over the weekend. We’ve got some great new production images too.

In the show, Scott meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, but learns he must defeat her seven evil exes to date her. Then things get even more complicated!

The series features the original voice cast from the 2010 live-action film, including Michael Cera; Mary Elizabeth Winstead; Satya Bhabha; Kieran Culkin; Chris Evans; Anna Kendrick; Brie Larson; Alison Pill; Aubrey Plaza; Brandon Routh; Jason Schwartzman; Johnny Simmons; Mark Webber; Mae Whitman; and Ellen Wong.

Bryan Lee O'Malley and BenDavid Grabinski serve as executive producers/writers/co-showrunners alongside executive producers Marc Platt (Marc Platt Productions); Jared LeBoff (Marc Platt Productions); Adam Siegel (Marc Platt Productions); Michael Bacall; Edgar Wright (Complete Fiction); Nira Park (Complete Fiction); and Eunyoung Choi (Science SARU).

The series is directed by Abel Gongora (Science SARU) with original songs by Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game), and a score by Anamanaguchi (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game) and Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta Compton).

The animation is produced by Science SARU (DEVILMAN crybabyKeep Your Hands Off Eizouken!The Heike StoryInu-Oh), with UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
