The doctor is in… again, as Dr. Robotnik is back for the third installment of the ‘Sonic’ feature film franchise, set to hit theaters December 20.
The doctor is in, again! Jim Carrey is set to reprise his role as the dastardly Dr. Robotnik in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Carrey’s return was teased in a recent post on X.

The third installment in the feature film franchise, which follows the adventures of the fastest blue hedgehog alive, also stars Idris Elba as Knuckles, Hayden Christensen as Shadow, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. Jeff Fowler also returns to direct from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, although plot details are still firmly under wraps.
We only see Clear Angle Studios listed as a VFX provider… we’re pretty sure they’re not alone, so more on that front to follow as we can glean more info.
Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno produce. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hits theaters on December 20.
