Hasbro’s Animated ‘Clue’ Series in Development at Fox

The small screen adaptation of the toy giant’s classic ‘whodunnit’ board game is underway with eOne and Bento Box Entertainment

Joining the ranks of more recent table-top game to screen adaptation like Ouija, Jumanji, Battleship, and Dungeons & Dragons is…Clue! While adapted before in 1985 as a cult classic feature film, the new mystery-game offering will be an animated series. Fox Entertainment will team with Hasbro’s eOne and Bento Box Entertainment to create the exciting new show.

“We’re thrilled to team up once again with our great partners at Fox and Bento Box on this exciting new series,” said Pancho Mansfield, eOne’s president of global scripted programming in a statement to Variety. “Clue is an iconic whodunit property that exudes mystery and intrigue, and has fans all over the world. We can’t wait to share our reimagined animated version with audiences.”

There are currently no writers or producers attached to the animated project. So, it’s way early on the project. Fox also recently announced another animated series order from Dan Harmon, a comedy set in ancient Greece.
