Get Ready to Jam with Razzberry Jazzberry

RAZZBERRY JAZZBERRY JAM, the new TV show from Trapeze Animation Studios Limited, wholly owned subsidiary of Trapeze Media Ltd., will debut December 23 at 7 a.m. on The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Kids' CBC.

RAZZBERRY JAZZBERRY JAM, or RJJ, is a children's show for preschool audiences. It follows a group of instruments who live and perform at "The House of Jam". Louis the Trumpet, Ella the Piano, Billie the Guitar, R.C. the Double Bass, and Buddy and Krupa the Drums all welcome a guest each week, and each week this new instrument introduces both the band and kids at home to a different music principle and style. Along with entertaining stories, and thanks to the show's partnership with Yamaha Canada, kids get exposed to actual instruments and professional musicians who help teach them -- and their parents -- the basics of music.

"The show was born out of a need for authenticity and value in musical education for kids," said Trapeze Creator Director and Show Creator Mike Kasprow. "Music education is being eviscerated from schools across North America and Europe. We wanted to develop a show that was entertaining, but also had a great degree of educational value."

With music written and produced by Jon Levine, of The Philosopher Kings' fame, and with a cast of voice talent drawn from the industry's vast talent pool, RJJ wasn't produced just for the screen. "We wanted to create a collection of music that parents wouldn't be scared to play in the car, on road trips or coming back from the mall," Levine said.

The show is directed by the Campbell McKinley, Gemini-award-winning director of DOODLEZ, produced by Brian Sharp and written by Dave Dias.

International broadcast and DVD sales for the series will be handled by U.K. distribution company CAKE Ent., with the London-based firm servicing territories that include the U.S., Europe and Asia.
