On January 26 the nautical nonsensical universe of Nickelodeon’s ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ welcomes Roblox’s 70+ million users to adventure to the world of Bikini Bottom, free on most platforms and devices.
Gamefam, a leading metaverse game developer and strategist, has teamed up with Paramount Games Studio to release SpongeBob Simulator, the first official Roblox game built wholly around the nautical, nonsensical universe of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants. Roblox’s 70+ million daily users will get a chance to transform into the hugely popular franchise’s iconic as they visit the digital rendition of Bikini Bottom. The free game launches January 26.
SpongeBob Simulator lets players adventure to the world of Bikini Bottom. There, they can unlock and collect special “mini buddies” modeled after the quintessential supporting series cast, including snails, jellyfish, and mini clone versions of the characters.
“Deepening the connection with fans of our hit franchises through interactive and immersive experiences is a key facet of our long-term gaming strategy,” said Doug Rosen, senior vice president of Games and Emerging Media, Paramount. “We’re excited to let fans step into Bikini Bottom and participate in the universe in a completely new way, and Gamefam’s expertise in creating and managing high-quality and engaging Roblox worlds makes them the ideal partner for us to expand into new horizons.”

SpongeBob Simulator comes on the heels of Paramount and Gamefam’s successful Roblox game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Tycoon, which, according to the game developer, has drawn 19 million players since its launch in August 2023.
SpongeBob Simulator will be free on Roblox via most platforms and devices, including consoles, PCs, mobile, and tablets, starting on January 26, 2024.
