First Featurette Drops for ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’

The ‘WandaVision’ spinoff follows the witch as she finally breaks free of the spell that trapped her, though she must get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two; series premieres Fall 2024 on Disney+.

The first featurette for the upcoming WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Darkhold Diaries has been sneakily released within the bonus features of the recently released WandaVision The Complete Series Blu-Ray. In the clip, Agatha herself, Kathryn Hahn, teases the making of the series alongside its creators.

“The character is so deep and heartfelt and dangerous,” co-executive producer Mary Livanos said. “Continuing the story of Agatha and getting to know her more was immediately an imperative for us as creatives. There would be nothing more delicious to Agatha Harkness than to be in a spinoff.”

The plot of Darkhold Diaries (known previously as Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Agatha: House of Harkness, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and Agatha: All Along) has been kept largely a secret. However, a short description of the first episode was released on the U.S. Copyright Office Public Records System, reading, “We see Agatha Harkness finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in. She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”

The series also stars Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Emma Caulfield Ford, Maria Dizzia, Miles Gutierrez-Riley and Okwui Okpokwasili.

Coven of Chaos is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, and head writer Jac Schaeffer. The mystical VFX are in the hands of Digital Domain, with Sandro Blattner acting as the on-set VFX superior.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is slated for release Fall 2024 on Disney+.
