Disney Parody Reminds Us to ‘Wear a Mask’

YouTuber Noah Lindquist has created a PSA for COVID-19 prevention to the tune of Disney’s ‘Be Our Guest,’ and it has taken the internet by storm

It’s surreal to think that the COVID-19 pandemic has permeated our entertainment and our lives for nearly a year. We kicked off the quarantine with the hilariously sassy music video Don’t Touch Your Face by Leah Shore, but six months later, Noah Lindquist may have taken the title of “Best Funny Musical PSA.” The YouTuber has created a parody video of the beloved song Be Our Guest from Disney’s 1991 classic Beauty and the Beast, and it is a bop. Not only is it insanely catchy, it’s a good reminder to have pop up in the back of your head during random intervals of the day: wear a mask, wear a mask, wear a maaaask.

Lindquist ripped video from the original film musical sequence and incorporated his own lyrics and voice over to the scenes, creating his own unique version of the song. His Lumiere impression isn’t half bad, and the song has given us some of the most relatable lyrics of the season: “All this speculation makes me need a flask,” and “Never seen folks so dramatic / over a f***ing piece of fabric.”

While the public health reminder is made lighthearted as a Disney parody, the message is incredibly important. So, wear a mask, and while you’re at it, don’t touch your face either.
