CLIP: Norway’s ‘Anchors Up’ Now on Digital!

Based on the beloved property ‘Elias, The Little Rescue Boat,’ Norwegian animated family feature was co-written and co-directed by Simen Alsvik and William Ashurst.

Arriving today on digital platforms from The Orchard comes the animated family feature Anchors Up, the latest installment in the Norwegian franchise about a plucky little rescue boat named Elias.

Originated almost twenty years ago by Alf Knutsen and Sigurd Slåttebrekk, the stories about the little rescue boat have been produced in 91 TV episodes, and audiences all over the world have been following Elias bouncing in and out of waves, in and out of danger and in and out of the most exciting adventures. The TV series, Elias: Rescue Team Adventures, has been sold to more than a hundred territories around the world, including Netflix for all English-speaking territories and China, with an upcoming broad exposure on linear TV and digital platforms.

In Anchors Up, after a daring rescue mission in stormy weather, the brave young rescue boat Elias is recruited by a larger harbor. Once he gets to Big Harbor to begin his new job, however, he discovers that bigger is not always better. Anchors Up combines action, humor, suspense, and a touch of romance for children of all ages, and like with all the Elias productions: It is supported by astonishing landscapes and environments from the beautiful coastline of Norway.

The film is produced by Slåttebrekk at Animando with the animation provided by co-production partners Qvisten Animation. Anchors Up was co-written and co-directed by Simen Alsvik and William Ashurst, who also helmed the third season of the TV series for Animando in 2013.
