‘Chicken for Linda!’ ‘Almost Forgotten’ Lead MONSTRA 2024 Winners

‘La Saison Pourpre’ and ‘It’s Just a Whole’ also take home awards at the Lisbon Animation Festival’s 23rd edition that wrapped up last week.  

The 23rd edition of MONSTRA – The Lisbon Animation Festival wrapped up last week, revealing a roundup of the event’s best films and dates for next year’s 25th-anniversary event slated for March 20-30, 2025.

Out of nearly 400 films in competition, here are the winners:

Portuguese Competition (11 films presented):

The SPA - Vasco Granja Award:

  • Almost Forgotten by Dimitri Mihajlovic and Miguel Lima. 

Jury Special Award - HBO Max and the Audience Award (two awards)

  • Cold Soup by Marta Monteiro

Jury Special Award - HBO Max

  • Alma's Condition by Sara Naves

Special Mention:

  • Easter by André Ruivo

Short Film Competition

MONSTRA Grand-Prix for Best Short by RTP:
