Press Release from Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network viewers tuning in tonight for the anticipated premiere of TOWER PREP will have the opportunity to check out footage from DreamWorks’ upcoming film Megamind.  As sponsor during premiere night, DreamWorks will feature a sneak peek of the movie, featuring an introduction by one of the film’s stars, Will Ferrell.  Cartoon Network will also feature a “Mega Rap” video montage segment during the premiere.  TOWER PREP premieres Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Megamind is the most brilliant super-villain the world has ever known…and the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way, each attempt a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as “Metro Man”…until the day Megamind actually defeats him.  Suddenly, the fate of Metro City is threatened when a new villain arrives and chaos runs rampant, leaving everyone to wonder:  Can the world’s biggest “mind” actually be the one to save the day?  Megamind debuts in theatres nationwide on Friday, Nov. 5.

TOWER PREP is a one-hour weekly action-thriller that tells the story of Ian Archer (Drew Van Acker), a budding hero who wakes up one morning to find himself at a mysterious academy for teens with special abilities. Unable to find answers to his questions from the school’s faculty and cut off from any kind of outside contact or means of escape, Ian forms a secret group with other suspicious students Gabe Forrest (Ryan Pinkston), CJ Ward (Elise Gatien) and Suki Sato (Dyana Liu), intent on discovering what this place is and why they are there.

The sponsorship deal for TOWER PREP comes on the heels of Cartoon Network and DreamWorks Animation’s announcement that the network has been granted broadcast rights to the How To Train Your Dragon television series based on the worldwide blockbuster feature film.
