Call for Entries: The 23rd Animafest Cyprus - Views of the World

Submissions are being accepted in the international short film competition and the Cyprus National short film competition; the festival returns to Salamiou this August.

Countryside Animafest Cyprus, the International Animation Festival of Cyprus, is now accepting submissions for the 23rd edition which returns to village of Salamiou August 2024. One of the longest running festivals in Cyprus, the event showcases a selection of the world’s latest productions, focusing on independent, non-commercial films.

Films can be submitted in the following categories:

  • International Narrative Shorts (Grand Prix – Dimitri Eipides)
  • International Non-Narrative Shorts (Grand Prix – Dimitri Eipides)
  • International Children Shorts
  • National (Cyprus) Shorts

Deadlines:

  • March 31, 2024, for International Narrative Shorts, International Non-Narrative Shorts, and International Children Shorts.
  • June 16, 2024, for National (Cyprus) Shorts.

Only films completed after January 1, 2023, are eligible for the competition categories.

Selections are made by Yiorgos Tsangaris (CY), artistic director of the festival and Gerben Schermer (NL), curator of animation and contemporary art. Selections are announced the last week of June 2024.

The festival is organized by Animafest Cyprus Views of the World with the financial support of the Deputy Ministry of Culture.
