ASIFA-Hollywood Heads to WonderCon

The event runs March 29-31 and features 900+ exhibitors and movie and TV programming exclusives; ASIFA panels include ‘Animation Superstars: Movers and Shakers,’ ‘The Greatest Cartoons Ever!’ and ‘Monsters of Adult Animation.’

ASIFA-Hollywood will be at WonderCon, March 29-31, at the Anaheim Convention Center on the convention floor at Booth 1610. The event features 900+ exhibitors boasting comics, original art, toys, and merchandise from popular artists, publishers, and retailers. During the event, attendees can experience exclusive movie and television programming, panels featuring top comics professionals, autographs, games, portfolio reviews, and the Masquerade.

“Make sure to drop by and say hello,” said ASIFA-Hollywood Board vice president David Derks. “We’ll provide guests with information on ASIFA-Hollywood memberships, upcoming events such as screenings, animation festivals, and our annual Annie Awards celebration.”

Friday, March 29 – 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Animation Superstars: Movers and Shakers - Room 207

A dynamic group of movers and shakers will embark on a spirited conversation about the ever-evolving global animation scene, driven by cutting-edge technologies and the transformation of the animation landscape. Moderated by ASIFA-Hollywood’s Vice President, Brooke Keesling, panelists will include Mark Caballero (SpongeBob SquarePants, Robot Chicken: Star Wars), Miranda Dressler (Krapopolis, Bob’s Burgers), Alonso Ramirez Ramos (Disney Mickey Mouse, Steven Universe: The Movie), and Dave Thomas (Wander Over Yonder, Kid Cosmic).

The Greatest Cartoons Ever! – Room North 200A

Hold on to your popcorn and get ready to watch Woody Woodpecker, Popeye, and other vintage animated superstars on the big screen! ASIFA-Hollywood and Animation historian Jerry Beck will introduce the iconic and most notable theatrical shorts from Hollywood's legendary golden age. Films include a George Pal Puppetoon, Tex Avery's Senor Droopy, Fleischer's Popeye classic: A Dream Walking, Tom & Jerry, and others.

Saturday, March 30 – 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Monsters of Adult Animation – Room 300E

Discover the unconventional creative geniuses behind the scenes, bringing adult cartoons like Big Mouth, Blood of Zeus, BoJack Horseman, Little Demon, Rick and Morty, and South Park to life! These visionary creators have been instrumental in keeping the world of adult animation vibrant, demonstrating animated content for grown-ups is a massive success. Moderated by Bento Box talent recruiter Brooke Keesling, panelists will include Mike Hollingsworth, Monica Mitchell, Charley Parlapanides, Vlas Parlapanides, Alex Salyer, and Amy Winfrey.
