Are DCU Stars Fleeing to the Safety of the MCU?

Following recent change in DC Studio’s executive team, axed actors are rumored to be jumping ship to a more 'welcoming' comic book cinematic universe.

The future of the new DCU may still be cloudy, but we know that Black Adam’s Dwayne Johnson, Justice League’s Ben Affleck, and Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill will not be returning to reprise their iconic roles. Other, yet unconfirmed axed actors are Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and Aquaman’s Jason Momoa.

All is not lost, however; a few fan-favorite actors may be returning to superhero roles, just not in the DCU (for now). Affleck, well known as Batman, may be moving to the Thor franchise as the villainous Minotaur, AKA Dario Agger, according to Twitter tipster MyTimeToShineHello.

Additionally, rumor mill aficionado Giant Freakin Robot claims Marvel is considering Cavill for Star-Spangled Man, the British version of Captain America, in the upcoming Captain America: New World Order. This rumor arises despite the recent announcement the former Superman will be deep at work on the Warhammer cinematic universe.

To make matters more intriguing, Tongues are also wagging about Johnson’s recent Tweet praising MCU’s late founding father Stan Lee on what would be his 100th birthday. Some say this is yet another indication of a DCU-MCU ship jump, although it currently seems a simple kind gesture.

Do you think these rumors have merit? We hope James Gunn and Peter Safran’s grand plans are worth it!
