Animation Guild Reports Quarter of Members are Women

Report shows women’s representation in the group has grown 5 percent over the past three years. 

The Animation Guild reported an increase the percentage of its members who are women, which account for 25.6 percent of its 4,230 writers, artists and technicians at studios under its jurisdiction in and around Los Angeles in March.

Guild business representative Jason McLeod wrote in the post that in October 2016, 23.2 percent of the membership was female and in April 2015 that number was 20.6 percent.

The post also broke down the representation by studio, listing the number of women employees and the total number of employees the guild represents at each.
