Animaj Acquires Spanish Kids’ Brand ‘Pocoyo’

The company plans to leverage the popular kids' IP through digital platforms and AI-scaled content.

Next-generation kids' media company Animaj has acquired the iconic, award-winning Spanish brand Pocoyo. The company plans a digital-first approach utilizing digital platforms and AI content scaling to turn Pocoyo into a global multi-generational franchise. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Celebrating its 21st anniversary, Pocoyo holds a special place in the hearts of Spanish-speaking children. Through its educational content, memorable characters, and playful narratives, the brand has already captivated several generations of kids and parents. With a strong presence across various media platforms, including free and pay TV, VOD, mobile apps, and games, as well as a massive following on YouTube (40m+ subscribers), the Pocoyo brand engages millions of children and families worldwide.

Available in 17 different languages, Pocoyo has featured renowned voice talent from all over the world, such as Stephen Fry, Patrick Prejean, and José María del Río.
