88 Pictures Expands to Toronto

India-based animation studio taps veteran industry execs Sabrina Riegel, Nol Meyer and Jean Cloude Nouchy to spearhead first international expansion.

Joining its locations in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, the Indian animation studio 88 Pictures, known for projects such as Trollhunters Trilogy, Fast & Furious Spy Racers, and Gremlins, opened a new international office in Toronto. The expansion marks a milestone in the 88 Pictures’ story and further solidifies its reputation as a global animation brand.

The company has hired Sabrina Riegel (Shrek, Madagascar, How to Train your Dragon) as global head of look, Nol Meyer (Shrek, Madagascar, Megamind) as global head of previs and layout, and Jean Claude Nouchy (Spirit, Aquaman II) as digital FX supervisor to lead the new studio.
