Among 15 awards presented at online ceremony, ‘Lupin’s Tales’ and ‘Topo Gigio’ honored as best preschool and upper preschool series respectively at the first entirely digital edition of the long running Italian animation festival and conference.
The winners of the 24th edition of Cartoons on the Bay, the cross-media animation and children's TV festival, were announced for the 2020 digital edition. The Awards ceremony was held online on Saturday, December 19 on the RaiPlay platform.
The winners are as follows:
- Best Preschool TV Series: Lupin’s Tales by Xilam in association with Maga Animation Studio and Rai Ragazzi
- Best Upper Preschool TV Series: Topo Gigio by Topo Gigio Srl and MoviMenti Production in collaboration with Rai Ragazzi
- Best Kids TV Series: Urban Legends by KecskemŽtÞlm Kft
- Best Live Action TV Series: Endlings by Sinking Ship Entertainment
- Best TV Pilot: We Are Family by TeamTO
- Short Film: The Snail and The Whale by Magic Light Pictures
- Best Feature Film: The famous Invasion of the Bears in Sicily - Indigo Film srl, Prima Linea Productions, Rai Cinema, Pathé Films
- Best Direction: Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec for Les Hirondelles de Kabul
- Best Screenplay: Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas - Sygnatia Sl
- Best Animation: Arctic Dogs - Ambi Media Group
- Best soundtrack and Pulcinella Ciak d'Oro: Lava - Crudo Films
- Pulcinella Award for Lifetime Achievement: Marco Tullio Altan
- Festival Hall of Fame: Guido Manuli and Don Bluth
- The Migrarti Award: Dreams in the Depths - Hozeye honari Kurdestan of Traovince
- Unicef Award: Lampadino e Caramella nel MagiRegno degli Zampa (Lightbulb and Candy in the magical kingdom of Zampa) produced by Animundi srl, Rai Ragazzi
