From June 4 to 9 2008, the 24th International ShortFilmFestival and the 10th Mo & Friese Children's ShortFilmFestival are going to present the best international short films, chosen from more than 4,000 submissions. The International Festival of Animated Films AniFest has announced the format for the competition of the festival's 7th edition, which will be held May 7-13, 2008 in Trebon, Southern Bohemia. Those who participated in the festival in recent years will notice some minor changes in both the structure and the names of the competition categories. Also new to the festival is a non-competition presentation of Czech, Slovak and Austrian films with active participation by the authors. This will take place under the title "CAS Presentation" as part of ProfiForum.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) hosts FRAMES, Asia's biggest convention on the business of entertainment. Starting May 7, submissions for the 2008 BlueCat Screenwriting Lab, will be open. Short and feature length screenplays are welcome. All screenplays entered for consideration will be evaluated for narrative promise, emotional impact, original voice and personal spirit.
Based on these criteria, three writers will be named BlueCat Fellows and flown to Los Angeles for one week of intense development in the home of the motion picture industry, all expenses paid. In addition, each fellow will receive $1,000.
