Animac 2024

The festival, a non-competitive exhibition aimed at artists who use animation as an instrument for their personal expression, will be held February 15-18, 2024; submissions are being accepted until October 16, 2023.

Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, is organized and produced by Lleida City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya. The non-competitive exhibition targets artists who use animation for personal expression and push beyond the boundaries of traditional narrative. It seeks visionaries whose work pushes its expressive potential to the limit.

Created in 1996, Animac is well known for its audiovisual events held in Spain. Today, the dynamic event welcomes animation enthusiasts and seeks to generate new audiences to support and appreciate the medium.

The festival is currently accepting submissions until October 16, 2023. The call for entries is for three awards with winners selected by the public:

  • Audience Award for Best Short (Official Section)
  • Small Animac Audience Award (Children’s Section)
  • Future Talent Audience Award (Student Section)
