SCREENWRITING JOB WEBSITES

One of the most common questions I’m asked is How do I break into the screenwriting business? If you don’t have an agent, a friend or a relative in the business you have to break in the old fashioned way—through the back  window after cutting the alarm wire.

There are many ways to break into the industry. I’ve discussed some in previous posts. Here’s a new one—screenwriting job websites.

There are several. Most of them offer low-pay-no-pay gigs. But beggars can’t be choosers. And unemployed screenwriters (i.e. waiters) are beggars.

So if you want to break into the business try out some of these sites. Several offer free job listings. Some you have to pay for. If you have some extra tip money I would suggest spending it. It’s like Velveeta cheese—dangle enough of it in the water and you might just catch a trout.

Good luck!
