The 31st Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film is coming up. From 23 to 28 April 2024, we celebrate the STUTTGART ANIMATED WEEK. Alongside the festival, the Animation Production Days (APD), a co-production market hosted by ITFS in collaboration with FMX, will take place. This unique combination of festival, conference and market attracts up to 6,000 professional visitors to Stuttgart every year.
As one of the world's most important industry meeting places, the festival offers a unique opportunity for exchange and networking. FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
In our Special Focus Ireland, we take a look at the young progressive animation scene of the Emerald Isle and focus on the domestic industry in the German Animation section. After all, the ITFS also sees itself as a showcase for German animation to the world.
This includes a look behind the scenes of Isabel Herguera's "Sultana's Dream" (2023) as well as the world premiere of the series "Fritzi and Sophie". We will show four episodes at the Open-Air and another four episodes at an exclusive cinema screening.
An "In Persona" program is dedicated to Slovenian animation director Špela Čadež. The co-founder of Finta Film in Ljubljana is a passionate advocate of the analog technique and will be showing some of her films, which impress with puppet and cutout techniques, as well as works that have inspired her.
