CoreWeave Releases New Native Blender Plug-In for Conductor

Plug-In offers CoreWeave users faster and easier rendering within creative environments, streamlining Conductor’s use with the open-source 3D software.

Leading specialized GPU cloud provider CoreWeave has released a native plug-in for integration between Conductor's cloud-based rendering service and Blender's open-source 3D software. The new plug-in provides faster and easier rendering within the creative environment. Once installed, users will see the Conductor drop-down menu in Blender in the render view.

“Conductor is for artists who want greater data visibility into their render jobs, enhanced cost control, and integration within their creative tools,” said CoreWeave head of Media and Entertainment Mac Moore. “Now, we’re able to bring that robust, turnkey functionality to Blender artists, providing critical access to computing power so artists can create and experiment at the highest levels.”

The Conductor Blender plug-in also offers an enhanced experience for users of CoreWeave’s rendering service, Concierge Render.

Conductor Blender plug-in key benefits include:

  • Automatic File Dependency Scraping: Submitted jobs are automatically evaluated to ensure all the pieces are present and accounted for before the render begins.
  • Increased Data Visibility: Dynamic feedback indicates what is happening when jobs are running and helps identify failure points so artists can troubleshoot when a job fails.
  • Comprehensive Cost Controls: With cost limits in addition to credits, artists can scale within a set cost threshold if the job requirements exceed the credits, providing budgeting flexibility.

In addition to the new Blender plug-in, Conductor integrates natively with Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max, Maxon’s Cinema 4D, Foundry’s Katana and Nuke, Adobe After Effects, and SideFX’s Houdini, as well as other popular digital content creation applications through custom scripting. Highly secure, Conductor uploads only necessary files for rendering each submitted scene, then encrypts the uploaded data and the resulting images in cloud object storage. External audit firm Independent Security Evaluators (ISE) performs ongoing assessments of Conductor to ensure the solution maintains rigorous security standards required by major studios.

The announcement follows CoreWeave’s integration with the Conductor cloud-based rendering service. Additional information and features of the new Conductor Blender plug-in are available here.
