CINANIMA Announces Call for Entries

CINANIMA International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 41st anniversary edition until July 1, 2017.

CINANIMA International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for its 41st anniversary edition until July 1, 2017.

The Oscar-qualifying festival is recognized by international film association ASIFA, and is one of the partner festivals of CARTOON, making CINANIMA winners eligible to compete for both the Cartoon D’Or for the Best European Animation Short Film and the Academy Award for Best Animation Short Film.

CINANIMA is accepting films completed after January 1, 2016, and which have not been presented for selection in previous editions of the festival. Feature films submissions must run longer than 50 minutes. Short films will be accepted into the international competition in the following categories:

  • A - up to five minutes
  • B - more than five, up to 24 minutes
  • C - more than 24, up to 50 minutes
  • D - Graduation and/or School Film
  • E - Commissioned Films -- Commercials and Information
  • F - Animated Documentary

The festival runs from November 6 to 12, 2017 in Espinho, Portugal.
