LightBox Expo Reveals ‘The Wild Robot: Art & Technical Strategies Behind the Scenes’ Panel

In this new addition to the show’s already expansive lineup, the October 26 panel will share with audiences some of the artistic and technical strategies used to create DreamWorks Animation’s beautifully animated and emotionally compelling new feature.

LightBox Expo (LBX) returns October 25-27 to the Pasadena Convention Center, with an expansive program lineup celebrating artists and creators behind acclaimed films, animation, games, TV shows, comics, illustrations, and features.

The expansive 2024 program lineup just got more exciting with the announcement of “The Wild Robot: Art & Technical Strategies Behind the Scenes” panel, Saturday, October 26 from 4:00-5:00 pm.

The Wild Robot, now playing in theaters, is written and directed by Oscar-nominated writer/director Chris Sanders and produced by Jeff Hermann. It’s a powerful story about the discovery of self, the bridge between technology and nature, and what it means to be alive and connected to all living things, it follows the journey of robot ROZZUM unit 7134, or “Roz” for short, that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings. Gradually Roz builds relationships with the animals on the island, including becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling, who, after a number of false starts, Roz names “Brightbill.”
